Please join me for what I hope will be the first in a series of regular events — I call it, Screenwriting Manifesto Live. I’ll get to the specifics in a moment, but let me explain in general what this is all about.

Every month or two I’ll be venturing out to local cafes, coffee shops, delis, bistros, opium dens and any other sort of place that features an open, relaxed atmosphere, free wireless hot spots, and some form of nourishment.

My hope is that you — yes you – will drop in and say hello for at least as long as it takes to down your coffee.

This is not a formal networking event, a seminar, or a pitch to sell timeshares in Mexico. It’s just a guy with a screenwriting blog who’s hanging out at a local coffee joint and inviting anyone with shared interests[1] to come by. It’s simple, really. There’s no need to RSVP — though you are welcome to leave a comment announcing your intent. Come and go anytime. I really have no expectations.

I’d be happy to spend a few moments getting to know my neighborhood screenwriters and fellow screenbloggers.

Here’s the info for the first gathering:

  • What: Screenwriting Manifesto Live, an informal gathering of interested screenwriters
  • Where: Panera Bread, 23592 Rockfield Boulevard, Lake Forest, CA
  • Who: All are invited. It’s a public place and a free country. Look for your host[2] David Anaxagoras, Screenwriting Manifesto blogger, in the black cap with the numbers “434″.
  • When: Saturday, July 26th, 2008, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Come and go any time.

Add this event to your Google calendar:

  1. Or a morbid sense of curiosity []
  2. “Host” isn’t really the right word. I’m more of…an initiator. []
