Not only are the individual Colemore prints and “fatagravures” intriguing in and of themselves, but collectively they begin to weave a narrative of a forgotten inventor, his fantastic invention, and some possibly dark consequences.

This whole series is absolute genius, as are most all of the photos in crowolf‘s stream.

I don’t know why this isn’t a book yet. Original Description follows.

A note on the back of the print reads: “Peter “Fleable” Flint, The Changeling of Eskdalemuir at the Jestar Stanes. To be published in A Pictorial History of Human Oddities Being A Richly Illustrated Presentation of Anatomical Curiosities in Human Nature By The Author of Crozier’s Border Tales. by William T. Crozier”
However, Colmore says in his journals that he believed the boy to be more than just a freak of nature. “There was an odd light in his eyes when I made his portraits. He was knowne to keep chackie mills ane matchboxes and tha locals claimed tae see him dancand naked on a fairy-sward neath the full moon. An he was scolded for kennand the other bairns to make elf-stanes. They truly feared him.”

I have not been able to find any record of the publication of A Pictorial History of Human Oddities by William T. Crozier.

This is a bird feeder hanging from a sickly looking tree on the playground of the school where I work. Birds are pigs. They empty this thing every other day or so, and never stick around to show gratitude. This photo was processed with "Matt’s Vintage New York" preset in Lightroom.
