Thirteen new episodes of Gortimer Gibbon’s Life on Normal Street were released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, October 30th for your viewing pleasure. We began planning season 2 way back in December 2014 and it’s a huge relief to finally be able to send these episodes out into the world. It’s a little nerve-wracking too. After all, we have a whole season one to live up to. Sophomore efforts are famously precarious. But I think somehow, despite setting the bar very high, we managed to clear it. Maybe with room to spare.
Not that I’m a workaholic, but I hate hiatus. And we’ve been on hiatus for three weeks which means I’m kind of bonkers. Thankfully, that all comes to an end on Tuesday, right after the Labor Day holiday, and we get back to making more Gortimer episodes. It couldn’t come soon enough. I’ve had some of the worse insomnia I’ve ever had, including one stretch where I simply did not sleep for about 36 hours straight. The truth is that work, especially making-tv-show work, is a great distraction and right now a great distraction is what I need. I don’t want to think about the last few months, I just want to keep marching forward.
